Jeffery S. Greene

Education

Jeff received his undergraduate degree from Tusculum College in 2003 with a B.S. in Organizational Management. In 2006 he graduated with a Juris Doctor from the Appalachian School of Law.  He served as an intern in the Office of McSween and McSween during law school and joined the firm immediately upon graduation and his admission to the bar on October 13, 2006.   In 2012 he became a partner in McSween, McSween, & Greene, PLLC

Work

  • Jeff is in general practice, focusing on title work and real property issues, probate, and municipal law.

  • He currently serves as the Attorney for the Town of Parrottsville, the Attorney for the Town of Dandridge, the delinquent property tax attorney for Cocke County and the City of Newport, and counsel for Newport Utilities Board.  He has previously served as the interim County Attorney for Cocke County.

  • He is licensed in the State of Tennessee, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.

  • He is currently a committee member for the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility

  • He is an agent for the First American Title Insurance Company.

Community

  • Treasurer of the Newport Bar Association.

  • Secretary of the Newport Firefighters Civil Service Board.

  • He previously served as the 2010-2011 President of Kiwanis of Newport, and as a mentor for Tennessee Promise.  

  • Jeff is married to his wonderful wife Julie Greene.

  • They have one daughter, Alexis, who is currently in law school at the University of San Diego.

  • They also have two dogs.

J. Carty McSween IV

Carty McSween is a fourth generation attorney at the law firm of McSween, McSween, and Greene, preceded by his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He practices in the areas of property, income taxation, probate, and estate planning.

Carty graduated from Carson-Newman College with majors in History and Political Science in May 2010 and from the University of Memphis School of Law in May 2014. Carty has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Tennessee, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and the U.S. Tax Court. He is also an agent for the First American Title Insurance Company.

Carty, wife Caroline, daughter Lucy, and son James are members of First Baptist Church of Newport. Caroline is a physician assistant at Summit Medical Group on Cosby Highway. Carty is an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Newport and the Newport Bar Association.
